D. Billa’s Bio
Damar Bradford aka “D. Billa” is a seasoned veteran both in the studio and on the stage. His previous experience has been performing and recording with rap and R&B groups. Currently he is Co-CEO of the most recognized independent record label in the area, Ill Noiz Records.
Recently he made the decision to venture out on his own becoming a solo artist.
Group accomplishments
Souljazz (6 man group) 1994-1996
-opened for Too $hort at Peoria’s Club Chavez
-headlined the Black Arts Festival in Peoria, IL back to back years
-various talent show appearances
-featured on compilation CD “Beyond Ya Wildest Dreams” released independently (3 songs)
D. Brad & P-Mac (rap duo) 1997-2005
-opened for acts such as Twista, 2 Live Crew, Public Announcement, Lil’ Jon, B2K, Chingy, JoJo,
Ja Rule, Casper, Sammy, and others
-headlined the End of Summer Jam (largest local rap concert) annually for 4 years
-had more than 10 songs in AAA rotation on Power 92.3 in Peoria and 101.1 The Party
in two years time
-recorded several songs for various charity CDs (Food Drive, Toys for Tots, Hurricane Katrina relief, etc.)
-recorded 3 full length albums (released independently)
-first rap music video filmed by independent artists in Peoria, IL (filmed and edited by UPN affiliate)
-performed shows at dozens of venues throughout Central IL
D. Billa (solo) 2005-present
-to stay sharp began performing with independent label mates Asleep on the Couch (live band)
-has had three songs in AAA rotation on two stations locally in the past few months
-first Rap song by a local artist on major Rock station (105.7 the X)
-most recently won the Source of Hip Hop Awards Unsigned Hype Tour in Peoria, IL advancing to the big show in the Big Apple
-currently working on first CD release as a solo artist entitled “The Beginning” due to be released early ’08
-the first single from his upcoming debut is “Oh I”
